Extraordinary Hotels

Hotels and hostels offer pretty much the same amenities all over the world.

Some are beachfront. Some boast views of amazing volcanos. Some promise the best day trips around.

But when it comes to finding the perfect getting away spot, sometimes it’s best to think outside of the box. These are some of my favourite hotels around the world. Visiting each and every single one of them is the newest addition to my bucket list!

Hotel Kakslauttanen, Finland

These igloos offer unrestricted views of the Aurora Borealis.

Palacio de Sal, Bolivia

A hotel made entirely from salt!

Can Sleep, Lake Skanderborg, Denmark

A hotel made from giant beer cans!! Note: this one is only open in August.

Jumbo Stay, Stockholm

You can slumber inside a retired Boeing 747! WOAH!

Free Spirit Spheres, Vancouver Island, Canada

My personal fave. This is the ULTIMATE tree house!

Les Roulottes de la Serve, Provence, France

Live like a gypsy and sleep in one of the restored caravan cars. I feel a campfire coming onnnnn!

Hotel Utter Inn, Sweden

Sleep underwater with a panoramic view of the lake. Pure bliss!

Elephant Safari Park Hotel Lodge, Bali

This hotel has the largest herd of rescued Sumatran elephants in the world. You ride by ‘phant to your hotel room, which is decorated with baby ‘phant paintings. There are also ‘phant shows and a nursery you can visit!
